New fire reported in Donald area, just north of Golden

The approximate location of the fire is Blackwater Ridge

The B.C. Wildfire dashboard is reporting a new fire just north of Golden in the Donald area. The approximate location is listed as Blackwater Ridge.

The fire was discovered on Sunday, July 11.

The cause is still unknown and the stage of control is listed as new.

The new fire is in the same area as the Carrol Creek fire, located just 50 km north of Golden, which is highly visible to motorists travelling along Highway 1.

An earlier fire on Moberly Peak, 7 kilomtres north of Golden, has been contained and is no longer listed on the B.C. Wildfire Dashboard.
