The provincial government is spending nearly a quarter of a million dollars to replace the nurse-call system at Ridge Meadows Hospital, a move aimed at improving patient safety.
The nurse-call system is being replaced to ensure patients continue to be attended to quickly and efficiently.
Due to changes in current technology, the older nurse-call system cannot simply be upgraded. To bring the system at Ridge Meadows Hospital into code compliance, a total replacement is required.
The project is a routine capital investment, with a price tag of $225,000, and will be funded by the B.C. government.
The nurse-call system replacement is planned to be completed by January.
The provincial government has allocated more than $2.3 billion in capital spending for B.C.’s health-care system over the next three years, with money targeting new medical equipment and modernized health facilities.
