Dan and Kim Muddiman of Clearwater-based Nest Timberhome, with help from Ken Beck, are building a new post-and-beam picnic shelter at Dutch Lake beach. The structure replaces a previous log building.

Most of the wood in the new building comes from local forests and some of it was milled in the Muddimans’ sawmill.
Design for the building came from West Edge Engineering of Kamloops. The appearance is consistent with the local post-and-beam bus shelters, which were also built by the Muddimans.
Construction should be completed next week.
