The City of Langley is ready to show off its new playground, expanded waterpark and grass field during the City Park grand reopening on Thursday, Sept. 20.

Adults and children from the community joined the fun from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to see the new amenities, listen to a live band, have their faces painted and enjoy snacks at the Russet Shack mobile potato food truck.

In a press release, the City of Langley said the redevelopment emphasizes youth and family opportunities and provides upgrades for sports programming. The City of Langley also plans to have future upgrades completed by spring 2019.

The event was held in the parking lot behind Al Anderson Memorial Pool.

Mayor Ted Schaffer participated in the official ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m.

Children from the community played on the new slides, swings and climbing walls at the playground.
