The arrival of a new preschool program in Penticton means more childcare options for young families.
The program, Playing to Learn Preschool, is now in operation at Queen’s Park YMCA Child Care Centre, located at 630 Birch Ave.
Playing to Learn aims to prepare children ages three to five for school and life-long achievements by nurturing their curiosity and development, “in the most natural way possible – through play.”
“A child’s early years set the foundation for their future. At the Y, we are committed to ensuring families have access to the tools they need to help their young ones thrive,” said YMCA child care general manager, Danielle Miranda.
For those families who may struggle to afford the cost of care, the YMCA says it is able to offer financial assistance above and beyond government support.
With this financial support, families can expect to access this program for $35 per month. Additionally, families can also choose to participate in the program part time.
Miranda said they aim to ensure every family can access high-quality childcare services, no matter their circumstance.
