The Columbia Basin Trust has announced a new program, aimed at strengthening non-profits in the East Kootenay.
The Non-profit Support Program offers non-profits opportunities to help increase their capacity while becoming more sustainable and more efficient.
“Non-profit organizations are vital to our well-being in the Basin – from providing activities for our children to helping care for our seniors, to protecting our environment,” said Lisa Kilpatrick, Columbia Basin Trust Director and Senior Manager in a press release. “This new program helps anon-profit of any size or sector strengthen its internal structure, giving it the foundation it needs to be able to focus on its primary purpose.”
All registered non-profits based in the Columbia Basin are eligible for the program, providing that they support public good initiative in the area. Non-profits that are for primarily membership benefit are not ideal for the program.
The program is designed to give expertise in a variety of areas, including human resources, financial management, and governance, among others. The program will also offer the opportunity for non-profits to connect with advisors who will assess the operation and provide tailored advice.
