Renovations of the Integris Community Centre are estimated to complete by Nov. 30, and the District of Vanderhoof approves $33,000 of budget increase to cover additional required repairs.

Required repairs included a roofing deck leak hat is part of the second-floor exit. Having been patched and changed several times in the past, the entire roof would need to be replaced as simple repairs are not successful.

Barriers to the second-floor exit stairs are also required to prevent community centre users from accessing the roof.

Discussed at regular council meeting on Nov. 7, optional upgrades for phase II renovations may involve a card reader to help facility management keep a record of users who have access to specific rooms. A key system is currently used for security.

The arts wing porch area can be renovated for better stability and usage by next summer, and its upstairs west wall insulation requires replacing.

Interior furnishings of the community centre have yet to be determined; the YMCA of Northern B.C. in Vanderhoof will be providing their own furniture and appliances.

Renovation of the exterior of the building may also be included in Phase II.

Further Phase II discussions will be included in the 2017 financial plan meeting.
