Following a raid by the Comox Valley RCMP at a problem house on 20th Street in Courtenay Thursday morning (March 4), 19 people have been arrested and several are expected to face charges.
“We’ve recovered property believed to be stolen, a firearm, ammunition and a quantity of what is suspected to be controlled substances,” said Corp. Jill Swann of the Comox Valley RCMP Street Crimes Unit. “The members of the Comox Valley RCMP are doing everything they can to address the complaints about this nuisance property, and are hopeful that collaboration with the City of Courtenay will lead to a successful outcome.”

In addition to the criminal charges being considered, investigators will be exploring the possibility of fines associated with the violation of province-wide COVID-19 restrictions.
Investigators are continuing to comb through evidence seized and will be contacting owners of property believed to be stolen so that it can be returned.
The Comox Valley RCMP Street Crimes Unit will continue working in partnership with the City of Courtenay to ensure the safety of the residence moving forward.
