No change in conditions following Peninsula MVAs

Two individuals struck weeks apart in White Rock and South Surrey

There is no change in the conditions of two individuals involved in two separate motor vehicle accidents on the Semiahmoo Peninsula.

A senior struck by a car in White Rock last month remains in stable condition.

The elderly woman was hit by a car Dec. 18 at the intersection of Buena Vista Avenue and Kent Street just after 7 a.m. and remains in hospital, White Rock RCMP said Tuesday.

The driver involved in a Surrey incident this past weekend remains in hospital in critical condition, police said Wednesday.

The 31-year-old man was the sole occupant of a grey Toyota Yaris that went off the road and struck a tree while travelling eastbound on 8 Avenue, near 192 Street on Sunday.

After Surrey fire crews and ambulance extracted the man from his car, he was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

RCMP continue to investigate the incident.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or observed the vehicle on 8 Avenue prior to the collision, to call police at 604-599-0502, or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
