No injuries in midnight house fire near Sardis Park

Crews from five Chilliwack fire halls responded to get house fire under control

A house fire broke out at midnight near Sardis Park in Chilliwack Monday night.

Fire crews from five different halls responded to the fire in the 46000 block of Griffin Drive. They discovered heavy smoke and flames showing from the two-storey residential home.

Chris Wilson, assistant chief for the Chilliwack Fire Department, said the crews quickly established a water supply and brought the fire under control utilizing a defensive attack. The fast-moving fire caused extensive damage to the home, however damage was limited to the home itself due to the quick actions of fire crews.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported at this fire.

This fire is currently under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department Officials.
