No one hurt in car accident near Nanaimo North Town Centre

Incident occurred on Uplands Drive Friday afternoon

A car accident delayed traffic near Nanaimo North Town Centre Friday afternoon

Nanaimo Fire Rescue responded to a motor vehicle involving a Volkswagen Jetta and Chrysler 200 in the westbound lanes on Uplands Drive, near Rutherford Road.

Ron Daly, captain with Nanaimo Fire Rescue, said firefighters responded to the call just after 3 p.m., adding that the occupants in both vehicles weren’t hurt.

“There were no injuries,” he said.

The accident resulted in the closure of one lane on Uplands Drive for about 45 minutes.
