City council will see no raises in 2014, keeping councillor wages at $37,500 and the mayor’s remuneration at $95,200.
Mayor and council’s pay is updated annually, adjusted by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Vancouver.
Every three years a comprehensive formal compensation review in undertaken, the next of which will be in 2014.
For now, as Statistic Canada reports no change in the CPI for Vancouver between October 2012 and October 2013, wages for 2014 will remain at this year’s level.
