No school? Send them to theatre school

If the teachers are still on strike when school starts, Kelowna Actors Studio has a solution for your kids.

If the teachers’  strike continues, Kelowna Actors Studio is offering a special program from Monday to Friday 9 am to 3 pm, starting Tuesday, September 2.

To assist families facing the B.C. teachers’ strike, KAS will offer a fun week of age-appropriate learning, exploration and theatre games.

A full theatrical experience—come try it all—theatre, film and musical theatre.

Students participate in games, improv, script work, musical theatre, scenes and on camera instruction.  Students learn acting techniques, auditioning skills, improvisation, cold reading and more.

We also will dabble in the world of musical theatre. Students will work on various musical theatre numbers, learning songs, adding movement and doing scene work.

refundable deposit of $100 must be received by Saturday, Aug. 30 to secure your child’s spot in this program. This deposit is refundable if the strike doesn’t occur.

Lunches will be included in the daily fee and provided by the Bike Shop Cafe and Catering Company.

Weekly fee for the camp is $200 for each week that the strike continues per child.

Instructors are Randy Leslie (artistic managing director), Karlisa Hiebert and Margaret Gobie.

Only 30 spots are available. Click the link below and register today.
