Due to the extreme fire hazard, Fairwinds in Nanoose Bay is prohibiting smoking on the golf course and at the marina. All trails are also closed.
A Facebook post is asking people to follow all posted signage and to respect restrictions.
The Nanoose Bay peninsula and the City of Parksville are currently in Stage 3 water restrictions.
A Regional District of Nanaimo post on July 21 says thanks to the efforts of residents cutting back on water use over the last two weeks, they have seen much-needed reductions in water demand in the Nanoose Bay peninsula and in the City of Parksville.
Also, new maintenance methods to clean out the Englishman River infiltration gallery more frequently are proving to be a big help in keeping the river supply up and running even with aging infrastructure complications.
The post also says Stage 3 water restrictions will be maintained in the Nanoose Bay peninsula and Parksville moving forward.
