Vancouver Island Health Authority warns the public to stay out of the water

A beach advisory has been issued (July 16) by the Vancouver Island Health Authority warning the public to stay out of the waters at the Glen Lake Beach Park until further notice.

The advisory warns that swimming and other water contact is unsafe at this time due to high levels of bacteria which could pose health risks.

However, the water park is still operational, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is fed from CRD potable water not lake water.

UPDATE: The no swim advisory for Glen Lake Beach Park has been rescinded.
