On May 25 The Honour House  “Tour of Honour” touring bus comes to town to focus on post-traumatic stress and mental health issues suffered by emergency responders and members of the military.

New Westminster-based Honour House is a home-away-from-home for those people and their families, helping them to recover from trauma.

The Honour House touring bus is here Wednesday from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. for a Fundraiser Barbecue at Skeena Mall.

The Terrace RCMP Detachment hosts a free community bike rodeo from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. May 26 at the Skeena Mall.

The bike rodeo is a hands-on, interactive day designed to teach children fundamental biking skills, road safety, and rules of the road. The Terrace Fire Department will be stamping all bikes with a security number.

All participants will receive a prize bag, a hotdog, a drink, and a chance to win a new bike.

Alexa’s Bus will be here May 30 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Skeena Mall. Alexa’s Bus was launched in 2012 in the memory of Alexa Middelaer, a four-year-old girl killed by a drunk driver in 2008 while feeding horses with her aunt in Delta, B.C. The bus is used to teach people the consequences of impaired driving and also contains the equipment to collect evidence and process impaired drivers roadside. Tour the bus and enter to win a getaway package.

There will also be a Distracted/Impaired Driving Go Cart Challenge and MADD’s new Terrace representative, Ashley David, will also be on hand. Go cart challenge participants get a free supper.
