North Country Inn and Restaurant employee tests positive for COVID-19

The North Country Inn and Restaurant said the employee had not been in contact with its patrons

The North Country Inn and Restaurant in Vanderhoof has reported a positive COVID-19 case from one of its employees.

In a statement issued on social media Friday morning, Nov. 20, the North Country Inn and Restaurant said the employee had not been in direct contact with any of its patrons.

“They reported to work Monday and Tuesday after receiving an initial, negative test,” the statement says. “Once a positive test was received, they went into immediate isolation, even though no symptoms are present at this time.”

The North Country Inn and Restaurant said it is working closely with Northern Health to ensure the health and safety of its valued staff and customers.

“We are, and have been, following the necessary guidelines and precautions,” the social media post states.

“We urge everyone to remain calm, and be considerate as we work together to get through this.”
