Congratulations to the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association’s newly crowned Ambassador Taylor Johnson, Vice-Ambassador Aurora Sabyan, and Vice-Ambassador Daphne Dodd, who received their tiaras Aug. 18, at Coronation Ceremonies held in the Fall Fair Hall in Barriere.

The Coronation came after the candidates had completed more than six months of training, event participation, a Speech and Talent contest, fashion show, and much more.

The NTFFRA organization and Ambassador Committee, the sponsors, the instructors, parents and volunteers have helped to keep this program continuing for 69 years. The first NTFFRA Queen – Sylvia (Sheaves) Winter – was named in 1951 when the first North Thompson Fall Fair was held in Louis Creek.

The three winning candidates this year were: Miss Clearwater Medi Spa – Daphne Dodd – from Clearwater, Miss Barriere IDA – Taylor Johnson – from Barriere, and Miss Quality Contractors – Aurora Sabyan – from Barriere.

A number of years ago the NTFFRA changed the name, ‘Queen Pageant’, to ‘Ambassador Program’, as to better reflect today’s values.

The upcoming North Thompson Fall Fair will be opened by the three NTFFRA Ambassadors during opening ceremonies taking place at 12 noon in the Dick Ross Memorial Rodeo Arena at the fairgrounds in Barriere on Saturday, Sept. 1.
