Oak Bay author hopes for return of missing materials

Woman seeks return of CDs and envelope missing from library

Oak Bay author Mahinder Doman Manhas hopes someone who finds several CDs and an envelope with two certificates will return them.

Manhas, award-winning author of the  book Zhindagee: selected stories of our 1st (South Asian) daughters 1920-1950, was working in the Oak Bay branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library mid-afternoon Wednesday, Feb. 1.

She had various things on the table by one of the computers,  and left them for a moment to ask a question of staff.

When she returned, the large evelope containing recognition for her book and two orange CDs with “Zhindagee 2010 (c)” written on them were gone, she said.

Despite library staff helping look, the materials didn’t turn up.

“They’ve been really good, they’ve been looking and watching,” Manhas said. “It would be of no value to anybody.”

Anyone who finds the materials can email editor@oakbaynews.com or call 250-480-3239.
