Oak Bay News earns three BC and Yukon newspaper awards

Multimedia reporter Keri Coles finalist for two awards

The Oak Bay News earned three nominations in the BC and Yukon Community Newspaper Awards announced this morning.

Keri Coles earned a top three finish for her Flyin’ high photo from the Oak Bay High Gary Talor Classic.

Coles also is nominated in Single Multimedia Feature Story for her package WWII veteran united with family of fallen soldier after decades-long search. She goes up against Kendra Wong of the Goldstream News Gazette for her multimedia package What is it like to be part of the Canadian Armed Forces?

Oak Bay News is also nominated in the special section award (under 25,000) for its Women in Business supplement.

The awards are issued April 28 in a BCYCNA conference and gala in Richmond on April 28.
