Oak Bay Police incidents reported in May 2017

• 3800 Finnerty Road – May 2, two separate locked bikes were reported stolen.

• Cattle Point – May 4 marijuana was seized. No charges were laid.

• 2800 Foul Bay Road – May 7, police found a driver was impaired netting him a 90-day roadside prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

• 1300 Beach Drive – Police responded to a report of theft of empty bottles stored in a secure area, May 6.

• 2000 block Oak Bay Avenue – May 19 a pedestrian sustained a cut to his head after from the fall after being hit in a parking lot.

• Cattle Point – May 19 police checked a couple of fishermen’s catch. Excess crabs were returned to the water and the information passed on to Fisheries and Oceans.

• Trafalgar Park – May 20 police responded to a report of a distraught woman near the lookout. Police apprehended her under the Mental Health Act.

• Uplands – May 22, police were called for a residential break and enter.

• 1200 block Hampshire Road – May 26, a vehicle owner watched a male wearing a full face motorcycle helmet, head butt the windows on his vehicle.

• 1900 Bee Street – May 27, police were called for a report of a body in Bowker Creek. Foul play is not suspected.

• Ripon Road – May 27, a cyclist was injured after a vehicle stopped short in his path. The cyclist required medical attention.

• Willows Park – May 27, police were called for a child missing from the playground. He was found on the beach.

• 2100 block Lansdowne Road – May 30 around 4:30 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle MVI with no injuries.

• 1300 block Beach Drive – May 31 a police officer smelled marijuana emanating from a vehicle. The driver was not charged; drugs were seized and destroyed.

• UVic Engineering building – May 31, a locked bicycle was reported stolen.
