Tools taken from build site
Thieves hit a construction site in central Oak Bay, with tools discovered missing March 20. Makita brand tools were reported stolen to Oak Bay police.
Busted making fake account
Police responded to an Oak Bay bank March 22 to intercept someone trying to set up an account using fake identification and pay stubs. Officers arrested the male who is suspected of using the same scam on a number of Greater Victoria banks.
Credit card fraud investigation
Oak Bay police are investigating after a resident reported that over $5,000 had been charged to her credit card, which she still had in her possession.
The March 23 report of credit card fraud remains under investigation.
Home rummaged, nothing taken
On March 24, police were called to a residence in central Oak Bay for a reported break and enter. The culprit entered the house and rummaged through bedroom desk drawers, but did not appear to take anything. Police Identification Services examined the scene.
Popular park swing damaged
Repairs are on order in Queens Park after someone broke the popular swing there. Police were called March 25 by someone who spotted three males drinking on the wooden swing, discovered damaged. The trio left on foot before police arrived, and a patrol of the area didn’t locate any suspects.
