Olympic dreams dashed for Okanagan curlers

The John Morris rink lost the Roar of the Rings final Sunday 7-4 to Brad Jacobs, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

Okanagan curlers will not be heading to the Olympics.

The John Morris rink lost the Roar of the Rings final Sunday to Brad Jacobs, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. The score was 7-4 Jacobs.

Besides Morris, the Vernon-Kelowna rink includes Jim Cotter, Tyrel Griffith and Rick Sawatsky.

Jacobs’ team will represent Canada at the Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

“They made everything against us in the first (round-robin) game with all of their hits,” said Morris. “Same thing this game and we didn’t put enough heat on them to get more points. It’s frustrating because I thought we had a better chance but we didn’t play the way we could of.
