One man is dead after a fire broke out on Scott Road Tuesday evening.
Firefighters were called to a house at 2951 Scott Rd. around 6:43 p.m. after several calls reported smoke and flames coming out the back side of the house.
When crews arrived, they entered through the front door and found a man on the floor. Crews were able extinguish the flames, and get the man out of the home, before starting CPR.
He later died on the way to the hospital, said battalion chief Bob Jones.
Jones believes the man was living in the home by himself when the fire broke out in a bedroom near the back of the house near Hillside Mall.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
