The tally of cases of E. coli illness that the Public Health Agency of Canada has stated are related to a recall of cheese from Gort’s Cheese is now 25.
On Oct. 4, another case was added in B.C., bringing that total to 12, with 10 in Alberta, and one each in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has not yet released whether their inspections have discovered the E. coli bacterium at the cheese facility. One person died, and all other people have either recovered or are recovering.
