One track reopens following train derailment near Golden

A single track has been reopened and trains are once again moving after a train derailment near Golden on December 27.

A single track has been reopened and trains are once again moving after a train derailment near Golden on December 27.

At 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, the incident occurred west of Golden.

It involved a west-bound  Canadian Pacific train which was loaded with grain.

Approximately 25 cars derailed in the incident which is now under investigation.

There were no injuries and workers from Revelstoke are still on site cleaning up the wreckage.

The cause of the incident has yet to be determined.
