One-way roads will soon be a reality in downtown Vernon.
The City of Vernon will relocate 11 parking stalls from 30th Street to 28th and 29th avenues starting July 24.
“To ensure drivers can access the angled parking, these streets will become one-way July 24,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, communications officer.
“Watch for the red and white no entry signs and the one-way arrows showing the direction that drivers will have to travel. Pedestrians crossing these streets will benefit from shorter crosswalks and by having traffic approaching from only one side.”
Pay and Display stations are due to be installed in mid to Late August and until that time, temporary two-hour parking signs will be installed for the angled parking.
