Online forum for Comox Valley school board byelection is Nov. 30

Six candidates have filed papers to fill the trustee position in Area C

Voters in Area C of the electoral district can find out more soon about the people running to fill a vacant school trustee position.

The district parent advisory council (DPAC) for School District 71 is hosting an online event open to the public. It is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 30 starting at 6:30 p.m.

As with many other meetings or forums, it will happen online due to COVID-19 restrictions. The candidates will be appearing via Zoom.

The public can submit questions to the candidates in advance of the forum. These must be received by Nov. 27 and sent to dpac@sd71.bc.ca. Email the DPAC as well to receive the invitation link to Zoom in order to watch the forum. There is also information for dial-in options for the forum.

Six people filed candidacy papers to run for the vacant position on the board of education by the Nov. 6 deadline: Randi Baldwin, Kandice Bielert, Cristi May, Monica Parkin, Terence Purden and Robert Thompson.
