The Ladysmith Sportsmen’s Club is holding a cleanup in and around town to address the needs of their club.
Groups of volunteers will be dispatched to Ladysmith’s harbour, the dogpatch and on Peerless Road near Stocking Lake.
The Chemainus Rod and Gun Club, Stz’uminus First Nation and Timberlands West are also involved in the day-long spring cleaning event.
Last year, 70 volunteers picked up 20,000 lb. of garbage.
This year, interested environmentalists and others can meet at the Ladysmith Sportsman’s Club Bush Creek Hatchery at the end of Christie Road.
The event is at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9.
Lunch and snacks will be provided, as will gloves and garbage bags.
