Over 2,500 already voted in Penticton by-election

General voting day is Saturday, June 19

A total of 2,521 people have already voted in Penticton’s by-election.

The final of three advance voting days on Wednesday, June 16, saw 962 residents turn out to cast their vote.

Saturday, June 12, saw 822 voters turn out and on the first day of early voting on June 9, 737 turned out.

General voting day is Saturday, June 19 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre (273 Power Street) or the Seniors’ Drop-In Centre (2965 South Main Street).

Note that the Seniors’ Drop-In Centre is a smaller venue and there may be line ups. The city will make every attempt to get everyone voting as quickly as possible while maintaining COVID-19 safety protocols.

The 2018 municipal election saw a total of 10,883 ballots cast from an estimated eligible voter population of 26,502.

The next full municipal election is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2022.
