Parade kicks off May Days

Crowds line Rutland Road North from Hartman Road to Centennial Park to watch the annual parade.

Decorated cars, old jeeps, vintage vehicles, farm tractors, lots of candy giveaways, live music, marching bands—the annual May Days Parade had all that and more again this year.

The annual parade started at 11 a.m., signifying the official start of May Days, although the midway rides actually opened up on Friday.

Other May Days events still to come today besides the Shooting Star Amusement rides until 10 p.m. will be live outdoor entertainment throughout the afternoon, the Imagination Market for Kids, until 6 p.m.,  the Busy Women Express Shop until 5 p.m. and bingo until 4 p.m.
