Work on the Vernon Curling Club parking lot is completed.
The lot was badly deteriorated and has been under construction since mid-July.
The overall project included the replacement of the blacktop surface and substrate, the replacement of sidewalks on the north end of the Vernon Recreation Complex, replacement of the existing 1966 water main that runs through the parking lot, updating a fire hydrant, new storm and sewer lines, new catch basins and a new garbage bin enclosure.
The parking stall layout was be realigned and re-painted to increase parking capacity and the sidewalks at the rear of the recreation complex were enlarged to make it easier for groups to load in and load out for events.
