Parks Canada scales back recovery operation for missing hiker

a 19 year-old Calgary man has been missing since Sunday after falling into Twin Falls in Yoho National Park.

Parks Canada has scaled back the recovery operation for a missing hiker who fell into Twin Falls in Yoho National Park on the afternoon of Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Parks Canada has conducted an extensive search of the Twin Falls area in Yoho National Park including an aerial, ground and dog and handler search.

Parks Canada will continue to regularly monitor the area in the coming days.

The missing hiker is a 19 year-old male from Calgary. This incident is a missing person case and the Golden RCMP can be contacted for further details.

The thoughts of all Parks Canada personnel are with the young man’s family and friends.
