A man and a woman were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking after an Oceanside RCMP raid on a suspected drug house in Whiskey Creek netted drugs, weapons and cash, police reported this week.
Among the items siezed was “a significant amount of suspected fentanyl,” RCMP said in a news release.
After a lengthy investigation into the suspected drug house, RCMP executed a search warrant last Monday. The search warrant led to the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, including what is suspected to be Fentanyl; a large quantity of cash; replica handguns and ammunition; and stolen property, police said.
The Oceanside RCMP will be forwarding a recommendation for charges against the 49-year-old male and a 35-year-old female, residents of the home. The initial charge is possession for the purpose of trafficking; additional charges may be considered, police said.
The suspects, both well known to the Oceanside RCMP were released from custody and will make their first appearance in Nanaimo Provincial Court on September 19.
