Parksville assistant chief Mike Tisdelle awarded federal Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal

Fire chief Marc Norris also awarded new 10-year bar acknowledging 30 years of service

The Parksville Volunteer Fire Department much to be proud of.

During the most recent Parksville city council meeting, Mayor Ed Mayne presented the Federal Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal to assistant chief Mike Tisdelle.

The medal honours Canadian fire service members who have completed 20 years of exemplary service, 10 of which served in the performance of duties involving potential risks.

“It’s my pleasure to congratulate assistant fire chief Mike Tisdelle. Mike joined us in 2000 and served as a volunteer for many many years up until 2018 with us,” said fire chief Marc Norris during Wednesday’s meeting.

Norris was also presented with an additional 10-year bar acknowledging his 30 years of exemplary service.
