Parksville Fire Rescue reminds residents that all open burning and outdoor fires, excluding cooking fires, are prohibited at this time.
The department also wishes to remind residents that beach fires are always prohibited by provincial legislation.
At this time, campfires are allowed.
As another reminder; fireworks are banned in the City of Parksville and the sale of any type is prohibited.

A person must not fire or discharge fireworks within the city unless authorized by a permit – which are only issued to applicants with a fireworks supervisor and/or pyrotechnics certification card, as issued by Natural Resources Canada.
The Parksville Fire Protection Area encompasses the City of Parksville and certain areas within the Regional District of Nanaimo, which include; San Pareil; Morningstar; Columbia Beach; French Creek, and the Fourneau Road; Wildgreen and Martindale Road; and the Forever Green Estates.
