The replacement of the Vedder Bridge is a ways off but preparations are underway for the construction project right now.
A partial closure of the Rotary Trail Parking lot went into effect Monday, July 25.
“This first phase of construction includes utility pole relocations and work on the north side of the river,” according to City of Chilliwack notification.
The second phase starts in September with a full closure of the Rotary Trail Parking Lot required at that time.
During the first 10 months of bridge construction, most works will be located off-side, with minimal impact expected on traffic flow.
“Trail users are encouraged to use the recently expanded Vedder Park parking lot, accessible off Petawawa Road.”
