Partial smoking ban now the law in Lumby

Regulations only apply to park areas frequented by children

There is a partial smoking ban now in Lumby.

On Tuesday, council adopted a bylaw that prohibits smoking in locations frequented by children in parks.

“We were receiving complaints about smoking around children and we addressed that issue,” said Mayor Kevin Acton, of why the village hasn’t banned smoking in all areas of the park whether there are children present or not.
