Dog owners are reminded to vaccinate their dogs as needed after a case of canine parvovirus was found in Quesnel.
Local veterinarian Pam Barker says “parvo” is contagious, does not require contact with another dog and can be fatal.
The vaccine is “very, very effective” in preventing a dog’s infection by this disease, and those caring for puppies should take further precautionary steps.
