Peachland’s first all digital online radio station, peachlandradio.com, will launch Saturday, May 17.
The new station will include talk radio, classical music from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s, big band, rock and roll, blues and cool jazz.
“The beta test of our digital live stream signal since December gave us a chance to iron out a lot of the wrinkles before we have our community-wide launch event,” said Allan Holender, the station’s general manager.
“There will be four local shows launching this month, hosted by local experts.”
All Things Real Estate, hosted by local realtor Dave Collins of Horizon Realty/Coldwell Banker, The Pet Vet, hosted by Dr. Moshe Oz of Rose Valley Veterinary Hospital, and Wine Trails, hosted by various owners of local wineries are three of the programs that will be offered.
Holender will also host a local conversation show called Live at the Lakefront, in an outdoor studio downtown in front of the historic Heritage Plaza.
In celebration of the radio launch, the Peach Jam Music Festival will also take place May 17, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Heritage Park.
There will be live music, prize giveaways, face painting and special custom side car rides.
The event is free to the public.
