Abbotsford Police are seeking information in relation to an accident that resulted in a 52-year-old female pedestrian suffering serious injuries after she was hit by a pickup.

The incident took place at 8:10 p.m. Friday, after the 32-year-old male driver of a 2004 grey Mazda pickup headed north on McCallum Road made an eastbound turn onto Marshall. Const. Ian MacDonald said the driver was headed for a nearby convenience store.

He said it’s not yet clear where the pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothing, was situated at the time of the accident and whether she was jaywalking. She suffered head and internal injuries and was taken to hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery.

The driver, who was not impaired, remained on scene and has cooperated with police, MacDonald said.

Anyone with information, including those who may have seen the pedestrian in the vicinity before she was struck, is asked to call Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225.
