A 92-year-old man died of his injuries in Comox Sunday after he was struck at a crosswalk.

On August 21 at 6:24 p.m., Comox Valley RCMP responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. It was reported that an elderly male had been struck in a crosswalk, at the intersection of Torrence Road and Guthrie Road, in Comox.

The pedestrian, a 92-year-old Comox resident, was taken to the local hospital by the provincial ambulance service, but succumbed to the injuries he received from the collision.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and was co-operative with police. The Comox Valley RCMP Municipal Traffic Section, the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service and the British Columbia Coroners Service are investigating this incident.
