Pedestrian in critical condition after early morning crash in Surrey

Woman struck in crash taken to hospital, and police closed roads for close to five hours

UPDATE: At 10:19 a.m., Surrey RCMP said all roads in the area had been re-opened.

SURREY — A pedestrian is in critical condition after an early morning crash in Surrey Friday.

RCMP say the crash happened at about 5:20 a.m. near 64th Avenue and King George Boulevard. Police had traffic blocked at the intersection in all directions for close to five hours, as well as closures along 64th Avenue between 134th and 144th Streets.

The driver remained on scene and the woman who was struck was taken to hospital in critical condition, according to police.

Surrey RCMP say the investigation is on-going.
