Pedestrian struck on Third Avenue West on Friday night

The Fifty-five year old man was taken to hospital for chest X-rays

A 55-year-old man was hit by a vehicle at 9:20 p.m. while in a crosswalk on the 400 block of Third Avenue West. When police arrived on the scene, the man was being attended to by Emergency Health Services for a reported head injury.

RCMP officer Corporal Devon Gerrits said roadways were clear, and described the conditions as being dark with artificial lighting from the street lamps.

The man is currently in the hospital for chest X-rays. Gerrits said charges are not being sought at this point.
