Grand Chief Stewart Phillip of Penticton reaches out to an audience member during the grand entry of the delegates to the 2014 BC Elders Gathering at the South Okanagan Events Centre Monday. The Penticton Indian Band is hosting the gathering for the first time since 1997 with several thousand people expected to attend the three-day event which runs through Wednesday. A wide range of events are scheduled including a number of workshops, guest speakers, entertainment, a traditional feast and Pow Wow and elders dance and social. Events are taking place at the South Okanagan Events Centre, Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and the Outma Sqilx'w Cultural School.
