A woman was airlifted to hospital Tuesday, after being struck by a vehicle as she attempted to jaywalk across Fraser Highway near Willowbrook Shopping Centre.  She suffered bruising and a broken pelvis, but is expected to recover. According to police the woman, who is pregnant, made it halfway across the busy road before stepping off the median and being struck by an eastbound car. The driver of the vehicle was shaken by the event, but uninjured. As they carried out their investigation, officers were surprised to see other people making similar attempts to cross the highway illegally.
