Following months of hard work and volunteering in the community by all eight candidates, the 2017-2018 Ladysmith Ambassadors were crowned at the Coronation Pageant on Saturday.
Sidney Mrus was voted as Ambassador while cousin Brandy-Lin Olson was awarded Vice-Ambassador as was Nina Charley.
Mrus was also given the Personal Growth award, voted on by the organizing committee as well as the Miss Congeniality
Award – a title voted on by peers in the program.
Charley took home the top prize in the both the speech and talent portions from the event held two weeks ago.
Chandler Gresmak was second in the talent competition while Mrus was third. In speech, Mrus was second while Alex
Cornett rounded out the top three.
The event was attended by over 250 people who were treated to some heartfelt goodbyes. The retiring ambassadors,
Brittney Webber, Morgan McKenzie and Chantal Lofstrom thanked the community for their support and the Ladysmith &
District Credit Union presented each of them with a bursary for their future education.
