A driver who lost control of her car during a heavy snowstorm in downtown Parksville last week found herself in an unusual location parked under the wheel of a Dodge pickup truck.

The incident occurred during the mid-Island’s most recent snowfall on the afternoon of March 9. The woman, the lone occupant of the blue Ford Taurus, was travelling on Morrison Street when she lost control on the slick street, Oceanside RCMP reported. Her vehicle slid under the rear bumper of the parked pickup and pushed itself under the truck’s driver’s side rear wheel, which ended up in her windshield above the passenger seat.

The impact of the collision pushed the Dodge forward in its parking space, where it collided with the rear of another parked vehicle, a 2004 Chevy pickup.

There were no injuries in the collision, though both vehicles were towed from the scene, RCMP said.
