Students from the Take a Hike program pitched in to help move clothes, and other donated items in Thrifty Treasures down the street and into storage. The secondhand gift shop is closing its doors for a one-month renovation as part of an ongoing Job Creation Partnership project. Workers will install new shelving, build a change room, remove the old carpet and install a new floor. The Thrifty Treasures upgrade is covered under a $94,000 grant from the Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation, which includes renovations in the Community Inclusion Centre on Bay Avenue.
