Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 71 calls for service from November 6th, 8 a.m. till November 9th, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, eight people were lodged in Terrace cells – three of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
Walmart employee arrested a man for shoplifting. Police arrested a 47-year-old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Walmart employee arrested a youth for shoplifting. Police arrested the youth. Under investigation.
Two people drinking alcohol at the Terrace Library. Checks determined that both were in breach of conditions. A 33-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man were arrested and held for court.
Domestic dispute. A 26-year-old man was arrested. Charges of assault x 2, uttering threats, and sexual assault x 2 are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Suicidal man. Police apprehended an adult man under the Mental Health Act and transported him to Mills Memorial Hospital.
Runaway teen. She was located but ran away again. Police located her again in a much more intoxicated state and arrested her.
A brown Dodge Caravan was pulled over on Keith Ave. when it failed to stop at a stop sign almost causing a collision with the police vehicle. An amount of marijuana was seized. The 60-year-old driver was served a driving suspension and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A black 1997 GM Jimmy was pulled over on Clark St. when it was observed to cross the centre line and fail to signal before turning. Police detected the smell of marijuana in the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was seized. The 17-year-old driver was issued a 24 hour suspension and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A group of people carrying an intoxicated bleeding person on Molitor St./Agar Ave. Police arrested the youth and transported him to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was uncooperative and was returned to cells. More attempts were made to get his cooperation for treatment, unsuccessfully. He was released to his parent.
Possibly a snake on the loose in a residence that has a rental. Police spoke with numerous people and a resolution was reached.
Theft from a brown Ford parked on Kalum St. between noon and 1 p.m. on Nov. 7. A newer Samsung tablet and knitting supplies were stolen.
Domestic dispute. On attendance, police could hear yelling. Investigation determined that it was a couple playing the video game Daily Planet. There was no need for police intervention.
A man refusing to leave the Days Inn Liquor Store. The man uttered threats to kill the employee. The day prior, the same man threatened to burn the building down and threw condoms at the employee. The 32-year-old intoxicated man was located and arrested. He resisted arrest and once in cells began yelling numerous vulgarities towards the police officer. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Possible impaired driver in a white 2015 Toyota Tacoma on Hwy 37.
A black 2002 Ford Ranger was pulled over on Hwy 113 at Deep Creek. The smell of marijuana was detected. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test was conducted on the driver. He failed and was issued a driving suspension.
A black 2008 Ford Ranger was pulled over on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. after it was observed to swerve in its lane and speed. The 18-year-old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition. He had a class 7 driver’s licence with a restriction of zero alcohol.
A white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was pulled over on Lakelse Ave. The 33-year-old driver was a prohibited driver. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A white 1998 Ford truck was pulled over on Lakelse Ave. for a vehicle infraction. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test was conducted on the driver. She failed and was issued a driving prohibition.
A Ford truck was pulled over on Hwy 16 near Kofoed Dr. The 60-year-old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in warns. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was towed.
Assault at the Thornhill Pub. Under investigation.
Deceased 63-year-old man at a residence on Old Lakelse Lake Dr.
Employee of Walmart caught a child shoplifting. Police spoke with the child and located a parent.
A blue 2013 Ford Focus was pulled over when it tailgated a police vehicle on Hwy 16. The 21-year-old driver had a notice to serve a prohibition notice. The notice was served. Numerous motor vehicle infractions were also dealt with.
Intoxicated person on Haugland Ave./Pear St making threats to herself. While conducting checks in the area, a woman approached police and demanded that she be arrested for breaching her conditions. Checks determined that the 21-year-old woman was breaching an undertaking and a recognizance so she was arrested and held for court.
A grey 2011 Mazda 6 was pulled over on Keith Ave./Kalum St. The 38-year-old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. The driver was already a prohibited driver. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
